These two volumes contain the first three books of the original records of the First Parish Church in Plymouth. These volumes preserve the story of the Church from its beginnings at Scrooby until the year 1859. The records are of baptisms, marriages, deaths, church members, dismissions, and transactions, and they comprise something on the order of 50,000 separately itemized listings. In fact, these records constitute vital records in all but name. This work also contains William Bradford’s History of the Plymouth Church, numerous illustrations, including full-page portraits of founders and ministers, and two separate indexes, one to church transcriptions, the other to baptisms, deaths, marriages, and members.
